Kelsey Funk is a licensed Minnesota special educator certified in Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Reading. Her academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a graduate degree in Deaf Education from the University of Minnesota, complemented by a reading certification from Hamline University. Kelsey utilizes Listening and Spoken Language, Cued Speech, and American Sign Language to support her students and colleagues depending on their individual needs.

With teaching experience spanning schools in both Minnesota and Texas, Kelsey’s work centers on language-rich literacy intervention and supporting transition-aged learners as they develop self-advocacy skills. She is particularly interested in integrating technology to improve classroom engagement and helping young learners explore their deaf identity.

In addition to teaching and consulting, Kelsey is an instructional designer. She has had the opportunity to design and facilitate trainings for platforms such as The Online Itinerant, The Intentional IEP, and the Louisiana AEM Conference, along with various sessions throughout Minnesota. At Triumph, she applies these skills to develop inservice materials, create specialized DHH resources, and support the team’s social media and marketing efforts.

Kelsey lives in Chaska, MN, with her husband, son, and their two golden retrievers. When she isn’t working, she enjoys reading, golfing, and discovering new cuisines and local experiences.
