FAQ

How does Triumph help school districts manage evaluation backlogs?

Triumph acts as a seamless extension of your existing team during peak evaluation seasons. Our licensed specialists provide the extra hands needed to keep timelines on track and ensure state and federal compliance without burning out your internal staff.

What are the benefits of a neutral, third-party Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)?

An IEE provides a fresh set of eyes that both families and districts can trust. Our seasoned professionals provide data-driven recommendations that help bridge the gap between home and school, translating complex data into actionable IEP goals.

Does your team provide support for low-incidence disabilities?

Yes. We offer expert support for many low-incidence disabilities and for students with multiple unique needs. Our team includes licensed specialists that a district's internal staff may not be licensed to assess or provide services for, including Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Autism Specialists, SLPs, OTs, and more. We provide these services through both onsite and virtual staffing models to ensure all students receive the excellence they deserve.

What specific D/HH services do you provide?

Our team includes licensed Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and RID Nationally Certified Interpreters. We provide specialized assessments, classroom communication access consultations, and direct staffing support to meet IEP goals and service minutes virtually or in-person.

Do you offer support for students using AAC or non-traditional communication?

Absolutely. Our Speech-Language Pathologists have extensive experience with a variety of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. We provide comprehensive communication evaluations to determine the best modalities for each student.

Does your team provide both onsite and virtual special education staffing?

We provide flexible staffing solutions tailored to the district's needs, offering both onsite and virtual support for a wide range of disability categories.

Where should a parent or district administrator start if they need support?

The best way to start is by reaching out for a collaborative consultation. You can call us at 612-584-9606 or visit our website to let us know more about your specific needs. Whether you are a parent looking for care coordination or a district needing to fill a staffing gap, we work to partner together to find the right path forward.

Do you offer specialized training or inservice materials for educational teams?

Yes. Triumph provides professional development and staff training on a wide range of special education programming. We have specifically developed inservice materials and resources for teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind students. These include specialized video inservices designed to provide educators with actionable strategies for communication access and classroom equity.

I’m feeling so overwhelmed with knowing what to do next to support my child. What are my next steps?

Every student is unique and special and ALL are able to learn and grow when given the right environment and tools to support them. I would love to help you plan and structure that environment to support your learner.

Why we use the term “Unique Needs” versus “Special Needs”

Mirriam-Webster defines “special needs" as “any of various difficulties (such as a physical, emotional, behavioral, or learning disability or impairment) that causes an individual to require additional or specialized services or accommodations (such as in education or recreation)”. While popularized in the U.S. in the early 20th century, this term has become a derogatory term in some circles, as opposed to a more respectful one. The term “unique needs” is a softer, more respectful term to refer to the uniqueness of each individual and the importance of looking at the whole person rather than defining them by the narrow lens of their ‘special’ needs.

What is a Team Coordinator?

When a child or young adult has a variety of service providers supporting their activities of daily living and learning needs, parents can find themselves spending a significant amount of time communicating with services providers, finding and distributing resources to the team, and problem solving for their child or young adult. A Team Coordinator works in tandem with the parents, county social worker, service providers and individual to coordinate communication, training, resources, and support in order to facilitate optimum and efficient team engagement for the benefit of the child or young adult with unique needs.

We have a student in our district but no professional to serve their needs. Can you help?

We love to support teams and students and we know that can often be a shortage of special education staff in districts for a variety of reasons. We love to use our areas of expertise to collaborate alongside district teams to benefit your student(s) and unlock their full potential. Please feel free to reach out and we can talk further about how we can potentially support your student(s) and due process teams.
